EDDM (Every Door Direct Mail) is a USPS service that delivers one mail piece to every address on the carrier routes you choose. You don't buy a list or print addresses. You pick neighborhoods on the USPS map, we print EDDM-size pieces, and the post office delivers them. Our EDDM postcards start at $309 for 2,500.

How EDDM works, in four steps

  1. Choose your routes. On the USPS EDDM map, pick carrier routes by ZIP code. Each route shows its household count, and you can filter by age, income and household size.
  2. Choose an EDDM-size piece. The piece must qualify as a USPS "flat": longer than 10.5″, or taller than 6.125″, or thicker than 0.25″, and no bigger than 15″ × 12″.
  3. Print and bundle. Pieces are bundled in stacks of 50 to 100 with a facing slip on top. Our packages offer shrink-wrapping in bundles of 100.
  4. Drop off and pay postage. With EDDM Retail you take the bundles to the post office that serves those routes and pay postage per piece at the current USPS EDDM rate. Up to 5,000 pieces per ZIP code per day.

Which sizes qualify for EDDM?

These are the postcard sizes we print that meet the USPS flat requirement. A 4″ × 6″ or 5.5″ × 8.5″ postcard is not EDDM-eligible, a common and costly mistake.

EDDM questions

What size does an EDDM postcard have to be?

EDDM pieces must qualify as USPS "flats": longer than 10.5″, or taller than 6.125″, or thicker than 0.25″, and no larger than 15″ × 12″. Popular EDDM sizes are 6.5″ × 9″, 6″ × 11″, 4.25″ × 11″, 8.5″ × 11″ and 9″ × 12″. A 4″ × 6″ postcard is too small for EDDM.

Do I need a mailing list for EDDM?

No. EDDM delivers to every address on a carrier route, so no list is needed and no names or addresses are printed on the piece. You choose routes by ZIP code, household count, age or income data using the USPS EDDM map.

How much does EDDM postage cost?

EDDM postage is paid to USPS per piece at the current EDDM Retail rate, separately from printing. USPS adjusts the rate periodically, so call us or check the USPS EDDM site for the current figure.

How many EDDM pieces can I mail at once?

With EDDM Retail, USPS accepts up to 5,000 pieces per ZIP code per day from one mailer, bundled in 50–100 pieces with a facing slip. Our EDDM packages offer shrink-wrapping in bundles of 100.

What is included in an EDDM package?

Each package is a ready-to-mail EDDM piece on premium stock with coating on both sides: Bronze 4.25″ × 11″ postcard, Silver 6.5″ × 9″ postcard, Gold 8.5″ × 11″ vertical bifold, Platinum 11″ × 17″ bifold, and Diamond 11″ × 25.5″ bifold. Each comes in buy-one-get-one quantities.
