Why Fort Worth is a strong EDDM city
Fort Worth is built for saturation mail. Most of its homes are detached houses on walkable blocks, and most households own the home they live in, so a postcard that lands in every mailbox on a route reaches the people who hire roofers, plumbers, lawn crews and dentists.
Our print hub sits in Arlington, inside Tarrant County with Fort Worth. Postcards, door hangers, business cards, take-out menus, table tents, vinyl banners, yard signs, NCR forms and catalogs all ship a short UPS Ground hop to your door, with buy-one-get-one pricing on every product.
The price table above uses downtown ZIP 76102. Type your own ZIP into any product's price builder to see the delivered cost for your address.
What the Census says about Fort Worth homes
The American Community Survey for 2020-2024 puts Fort Worth at 963,194 residents living in 342,126 households. Owners hold 195,072 of those homes, or 57.0%, which means a majority of every route you mail is a homeowner deciding on repairs and upgrades.
Two numbers matter most when you plan mail here:
- Detached houses: 242,351 of the city's 373,948 housing units are single-family detached homes, 64.8%. That is a lot of front doors a canvassing crew can reach, and a lot of yards that need mowing, treating and fencing.
- Age of the housing: the median home was built in 1994. Neighborhoods of that age are entering the years of roof, water heater and air-conditioning replacement, which is steady work for home-service trades.
Citywide figures blur big differences between the older core and the newer subdivisions on the north and west edges. Pick routes one neighborhood at a time rather than mailing the whole city.
Fort Worth trades that order the most print
The Census Bureau's County Business Patterns for 2023 counts Tarrant County employers by industry. Here is how the biggest local trades usually spend their print budget.
- Restaurants come first, with 1,423 full-service and 1,965 limited-service locations in the county. Delivery menus mailed by EDDM to the surrounding routes, plus table tents for the dining room. See restaurant printing.
- Dentists follow with 1,029 offices. New-patient postcards to nearby families and appointment cards at the front desk. See dental practices.
- Home services are a deep bench here: 631 plumbing, heating and air-conditioning contractors, 404 landscaping services, 261 roofers and 107 pest control companies. Door hangers after a job, postcards before storm season, yard signs at every site. See plumbers and roofing contractors.
- Insurance agencies number 911 and real estate offices 730. Both farm neighborhoods with postcards on a monthly rhythm. See real estate agents.
- Auto repair adds 514 general repair shops, a good fit for oil change and inspection coupons mailed within a few miles of the bay.
The counts cover only businesses with paid staff, so owner-operators working alone are left out of them.
Planning EDDM and door hangers across Fort Worth
EDDM, short for Every Door Direct Mail, puts one piece in every residential mailbox on the carrier routes you choose. You do not buy or rent a list, and in a city where most homes are single-family houses, nearly every piece reaches a household that makes its own buying decisions.
Door hangers fit the same streets. A crew can cover a subdivision in an afternoon, and a hanger left on a neighbor's door right after a finished job is one of the cheapest ways to win the house next door. Some HOAs restrict flyers, so check the rules for gated or managed communities first.
To plan a drop, look up your ZIP on the USPS EDDM map, choose routes near your shop or service area, and add up the household counts. The EDDM cost calculator turns that count into a printing and postage estimate, and EDDM printing explains the sizes the Postal Service accepts.
