Storm-Response Marketing for Roofers: Door Hangers, Yard Signs and EDDM
After a storm, homeowners call the roofer they recognize and trust first. The fastest plan is to have door hangers ready before storm season, hang them on the affected streets within days, put a yard sign at every job, and follow with an EDDM postcard to the surrounding routes. 2,500 4.25″ × 11″ door hangers cost $409, and 10 yard signs cost $150.
Why print before the storm?
The days right after a storm are when homeowners are looking at their roofs, and when out-of-area crews arrive. Waiting for a print order means missing that window. Printing a supply of door hangers and yard signs at the start of the season means your crews can start the morning after.
A door hanger that works all season avoids dates and storm names: "Storm damage on your street? Free roof inspection. Licensed and local since…" with your license number and phone number in large type.
Step 1: Door hangers on the affected streets

Once the immediate streets are covered, mail the surrounding carrier routes with EDDM, so every home in the area sees your name, including the ones your crews did not reach. A 6.5″ × 9″ postcard qualifies for EDDM and gives room for a before-and-after photo:
