Take-Out Menu Printing: Sizes, Folds and How Many to Print
For most restaurants, an 8.5″ × 11″ tri-fold menu is the best take-out size: it fits in a bag, lists a full menu, and 2,500 cost $379 (printing $349 plus $30 for folding). Larger menus use an 11″ × 17″ bifold, and restaurants mailing their menu by EDDM often choose an 8.5″ × 11″ vertical bifold.
Which menu size should you choose?

All three print on 100lb coated text with an aqueous coating that handles being passed around. Folding is added per tier: $30 at 2,500, $45 at 5,000 and $60 at 10,000. Every tier is buy-one-get-one, so 2,500 means you pay for 1,000.
Tri-fold or bifold?
A tri-fold makes six narrow panels, good for a menu organized by category, and folds small enough for a bag or a door. A bifold makes four larger panels, better for photos and wider item descriptions.
How many menus should you print?
Estimate where each menu goes:
- Bags: one per take-out or delivery order until the next price change
- Counter and host stand: a steady supply for walk-ins
- Local handouts: offices, hotels and apartment lobbies nearby
- Mailing: one per household on the routes inside your delivery area
The main limit is your next price change. Print what you will use before prices or items change; the buy-one-get-one tiers mean the per-menu price drops a lot if you use more.
Can you mail menus with EDDM?
Yes. An 8.5″ × 11″ piece qualifies as a USPS flat. Our Gold EDDM package is an 8.5″ × 11″ vertical bifold on 100lb coated text, at 2,500 for $349, 5,000 for $559 or 10,000 for $679. Mail it to the routes inside your delivery radius with a first-order offer.
